Awesome @D97x7. Just curious what conditioner you use on your boots? Love the way your packers have darkened and taken on almost a "waxy" finish

        Thanks,
1930's Boss - nothing yet, I have some Wesco Silicon but am undecided as weather to use it or not, might order some kilties to try it on first.
Wild Ones - just one good coat of Venetian Cream (must get some more as I've run out, anyone know where I can buy it in Europe?).
Smokejumpers - brushed occasionally and washed in the sink once, as they were seriously covered in dust.
Packers - one coat of the Wesco Bee Oil, was going to use some Obanauf LP but don't really want to darken them.
Service Boots - a couple of coats of the Viberg leather protector that they came with, which I personally think is the same as the Obanauf LP.

I don't think you should use Wesco silicon on waxed leather.

Oh damn, for some reason I thought that the silicon was just for silicon tanned leathers like black fire. Sorry for the misinformation.

Same boots - I have used a colorless shoe cream (Saphir) once in a while and a horsehair brush frequently.

I guess that Kiwi, Burgol etc. do the job as well. They are all wax-based. Imo the brushing is the more important part - 30 secs after every use, ignoring the wife´s laughing at you.

I am no expert at all so this is more speculation/observation than knowledge (maybe somebody who really knows his stuff can chime in):
The regular brushing keeps the shoe clean removes dust etc.
The protective layer of wax on the surface gets affected by daily scratches and marks. The brushing renews the layer and keeps it always intact. If you are looking for deep marks and scratches (can also look good imo) brushing might be the wrong strategy  😉
The leather gets a somewhat rich tone (don´t know how)

I'm guessing the dark color is occurring because with daily brushing and the application of wax, you're essentially burnishing the leather. Any friction you apply to leather will result in burnishing. The change is happening so slowly that you're probably not even noticing. Just taking a stab in the dark.
