So today I got sometime to look at my 526L, if I compare its denim with my existing 526J, these are stiffer at this point, to my best understanding 526J uses yarn that is thicker 21 oz and cannot be woven tightly as comparatively lighter and thinner yarn 19 oz that 526L uses, result 526L feels warmer and stiffer, my experience is that 17 oz to 19 oz feels very identical, 14 to 16 oz feels identical and anything above 20 oz are not my type when its denim jacket. That was one reason I did not go with SEXIH22TYPEIII from Selfedge (this is suppose to be equivalent to 526L) tho there is a little difference just one oz, overall 20 oz SEXIH22TYPEIII feels duller where as 526L feels much sharper. That is why SEXIH22TYPEIII uses canvas for pocket bags as adding 20 oz denim may not be feasible as it is done in 526L. 526L is done by perfect selections and to my knowledge this is the best jacket that money could buy today. I congratulate to Giles and all the proud owners as 526L is a winner!!!

Mine has definitely gotten softer after a couple months of wear but still has a ways to go.

superfuzz, when you say softer how much is there a way to explain it? For me right now its unbearable, cannot imagine wearing it and going out

The 526L, after a few hard weeks of wear softens up. Enjoy the jacket

I've worn mine a lot in the 4 months or so that I've had it and it's still stiff but it has softened up a bunch. I'm looking forward to fall so I can start wearing it again and keep breaking it in.

It was so stiff at first that I looked funny wearing it. Like I was wearing cardboard or denim armor.

I don't know if that will get much better. It will probably stretch some but a jacket won't stretch like jeans. Can you post a pic of yourself wearing it?

Just got my IH-526L and all I can say is WHOA this thing is tough and stiff. I feel like I'm wearing denim armor! The fit is totally perfect. I'm going to try to really wear this every day till summer, see how much evo I can get out of it. Here are some crappy and probably unhelpful fit pics. I went with my usual size S. I'm also wearing the 666Ds I got as well. Sized up one to 29. Just dropped them off to get hemmed. Thanks for making this jacket happen, G!
