Those look like some tough boots. I bet they'll look amazing after getting the shit kicked out of them.

Cross post, but I felt like I was cheating on WESCO by not posting these in here.

MP Packer fans/owners out there?? I'm completely obsessed with this boot at the moment; especially now that its available outside of JP and they are offering some new leather options.

Here's what I'm considering: 7" height featuring their new brown pull up, single unstained midsole, 269 outsole, subtle but contrast stitching on uppers (eg olive drab), and brass eyelets and hooks…. Basically, a brown Flightmaster

Bretro, I don't have any experience with Packers but that sounds like a great boot makeup. I really like that new Wesco brown leather.

Picked up a used pair of White's packers this past weekend, oiled them last night, after a new set of heels
they should be good to go.

I'm actually considering almost the exact same build except I'm thinking about going with 6" height and brown stitching. Where did you hear that they are offering the MP toe on the packers?

Here is a standard western toe packer that I found on a Russian site while browsing GIS. This one looks like it is 5" in height.

Shivman, great minds think alike 🙂

I'm struggling to remember where I heard it first, but I do keep in contact with a guy who ordered a pair thru a US distributor recently. And I talked with Kyle about a pair over the phone about a week ago, so I'm pretty sure they'll do it. Anybody please correct me if I'm wrong, and I'll be correcting myself here in a flash if I find out otherwise…

What I really, really like about the packer is how the vamp and counter stitching don't intersect like on Jobmasters or Smokejumpers (if that makes sense). Just seems like a cleaner design IMO.

For other packer build options, check out Empty Garage's always useful site http://emptygarage.jp/packer_wesco/index.html

Hey Bretro you can also get a jobmaster with packer upper, which will solve the vamp counter issue, but the toe won't be as sleek as the MP toe but may be more comfortable.

Superfuzz, thx for that. Any idea how the Jobmaster last compares to the Smokejumper and SD lasts? I have some softoe MP Boss so at least I know they'd fit, but if I could find a middle ground between dressy and workboot (ala a Semi Dress) I'd likely opt for that.

Seawolf, do yo follow WESCO on instagram? They posted pics of that make up but with a perforated cap toe. I think my next pair of boots will be those without the cap toe. Gotta save up some money first!

That's actually what I have planned.  I was happy to find out that Wesco will do this for no extra charge.  I've always had a weird hatred of that heel counter/vamp overlap.
