      Thanks Ms G!

Question to those of you who soak/wash the 25 oz: did you do it before really wearing them? I'm thinking of breaking them in for a week and then doing a cold soak to help prolong life and avoid rips at the cuff creases, etc. gentle cold soak should work? Or is this just myth?

Well either way. I know it's been discussed, but I always appreciate input the longer people having been wearing the denim. I don't have a tub at the moment so I may just say fuck it until the first wash. But I'd really hate to see tears at the cuffs… I'm also not convinced a preemptive soak will do anything to mitigate that.

You don't have to use a tub. I use a large paint bucket I bought at the hardware store for a couple bucks

Good idea. Just cram them in there? Inside out?

Is turning them inside out really necessary for just a cold soak?

No, not for a soak. Only if you're machine washing do you need to turn them inside out.

My take: it's added value to turn them inside out

Well I soaked these last night and am currently in an epic battle. So far, the tally goes:

                                  25 oz: 1
                                  Me: 0

I can barely type my fingers hurt so badly, and my hips are seriously sore. I shall persevere! I was able to button them all the way up after the cold soak (which did shrink them a wee bit). Granted, I had to do the top button lying down…

Anyways, I know I can conquer them! Just need more time. Off to scrub the indigo off my nails..

Glad to see the 1/2 bottle didn't blow you down.  Great pics.  I'm surprised you washed so fast (less than 3 mos. in).  Any difference in the denim after the wash?

&Spring Son of Light: Same question; what is the difference post-soak?

it was a old, not sweet, single cask rum. mmmmh

if got a 1 year old son, therefore (and because of my clumsiness) my close tend to get dirty quick.
plus, i don't make a fuss about washing my jeans.

no difference after the wash (wool cycle 30°C) exept of the highlights.
should have taken some before after picts.
                                        cheers

I did not notice much difference in the denim itself, it remained pretty stiff. I got a tiny bit of shrinkage which I think was more just the weave tightening a bit. They were a tight for a few hours, so I tucked in my tee shirt to protect my hip bones. I'm on day 3 now (2 day post soak) and they feel perfect. Will post a pic in a bit after I have breakfast 😉
