    @Heavy:

    Oh and slighty off topic i noticed you mentioning SDA on another thread, the 1405's have caught my eye have you saw those up close?

    I actually have a pair of the D1405 in my stock pile. Like most SDAs, the D1405 is really nicely put together. Denim reminds me a little bit of the Samurai 21 oz. as far as I can tell. It's a fairly roomy and fairly high-waisted cut, similar to the S0510XX IMO.

    Actually, I might be willing to part with mine if you are interested. They are size 34, and they are new with tags.

      Hmm might take you up on that, but i have also been told the 1466's are very nice up close despite the fact that they have a zipper which would normally put me right off them, and back on topic i hear soon to be  Sam 5000GT-X are awesome.

        You are talking about the Kojima model, right? I have not seen those up close, but I like the cut on them, at least from what I can see in pics, and the denim does sound unique. I have to admit that I never seriously considered getting them, though, because they have a zip fly, and because the denim is a little bit lighter than what I normally buy. If you like zip flies, check out the XXX-26, I think those look really nice, from what I've seen in pics, and the zipper on those looks like premium quality. They are really pricey though.

        The Samurai S5000GX-Ts are already out, actually, and they are indeed really nice. I have a pair of those in my stock pile as well.

          Yes it's the Kojima's i'm talking about, i'm with you on the zip thing that's why i said that zip's normally put me right off, the weight does not really come into it for me although i must confess that i do find myself only looking at heavier weight stuff but a few lighter weight denims help balance it out :). Those GT's did you get yours direct from Japan, because as far as i was aware there are none available outside JPN as yet, or have i been misinformed??

            I got mine at Blue in Green. They've had sizes 28-33 in stock for about 2 weeks now.

              Cool. Was told they are LE to 400 and that BiG only got two pairs per size.

                You're right, they are limited to 400, and I think you're also right about BiG only getting 2 of each size. I was thinking of getting a 34 instead of a 33 but they had already sold both of their pairs of the 34 when I was inquiring, so that made my choice easier.

                  Any chance of some pics of them and what is your assesment of them thus far?

                    Haven't had a chance to take any pics of them other than a few comparisons between them and the 5000AI-10SPs that I posted on a couple of other forums. I haven't started wearing them yet either (they're still in the stock pile), but I can say that I am impressed with their quality. Like any Samurai jean, they are put together really nicely, and certain details, such as the engraving on the buttons, are very impressive. The denim is 17 oz, and with the persimmon juice-dyed weft yarns, the jeans have a little bit of a purplish hue compared to normal jeans. I like these a lot so far.

                      Also, I'm pretty sure that Beatle has a pair of the GX-Ts, too. If she ever comes back to this thread, I'd like to hear her thoughts as well.

                        yap, indeed…They are terrific. I cannot compare them to the ai-denim - I can only say that the indigo has a purple hue to it - combined with the brownish weft this is one of the most special denim I have ever seen..

                        I have always been very fond of Samurai jeans and denim - the 17oz on these are rock solid. Samurai denim always tends to feel a little heavier / rough compared to many other denim's in the same weight category due to the shorter cotton fibers that Mr. Nogami obviously prefers.

                              If you're getting a pair of Sam's, go balls out with the sg-t's.  Their other models are good if you like slubby jeans(I do).  I had a pair of 0500xx, good stuff.

                                Just received my S5000GX-H today and these are truely amazing. My true waist size is 34 and I sized down one size for these, but now I'm slightly worried that these won't fit me at all post- soak/wash, does anyone know how much these will shrink and subsequently how much these will stretch with continous wear (they do look to have a propensity to stretch a lot having walked around with them in raw state)? I have no previous experience with Samurai at all, any help/advise is much appreciated. Thanks.

                                  If you are able to button them up pre soak - they'll fit. Tight….but the pain will cease..

                                      I'm able to stick my arm into them while being buttoned up so I guess I'll be fine then, gonna give them a soak, thanks.
