Hey guys,
I'm personally loving this discussion. Can we move the workout related conversation to the "In Fitness and Health" thread and keep this one related directly the IronHeart Goruck Challenge?
The two threads will obviously be related in spirit, it's just that there is a lot of good info in this thread and it really belongs over there. Please feel free to cross post with your journey to this event

Chris knows what's going on. Hopefully he will join us. I know he mentioned on the fitness thread he was looking to getting into shape (though he didn't appear to be out of shape to me)
I just went through this thread, and the fitness info and the Goruck info is so tightly weaved in with each other that I can't split the thread. Argh, you make a mods job hard
Btw, if you sign up for a Goruck event, you get a discount on purchases. You might want to take that into consideration if you're looking to buy a pack
There's a Goruck Challenge in a couple weekends not far from me. Tempted to sign up for it but there's so much going on at home with the new dog

Since we are looking at a date in 2014 and the dates are not yet posted, I have asked GORUCK to provide me with a discount code that anyone who wishes to purchase a pack can use. They said they would sort it out and get back to me. As soon as I have the code, participants can get it from me.

This idea occurred to me, as well. Maybe order some blank Ts from G, and have some custom screen-printing done?

I like this idea, too. If a custom patch is made (which would be badass), it definitely needs equal representation from IH and GORUCK.

Let's start with the simplest first. I think, for a patch, this design is recognizable from a distance. And the prominence of the red dubya will give our packs a sense of ownership IMO. I'm thinking of moving the "w" up slightly, but its centered on the patch in the current location.
This is just a sketch, there are definitely more refinements to be made…

Brilliant, Adam. I think the synergy between the two logos is perfect. I actually like it centered, too. It may be a bit busy at the bottom, but it stills looks great. What if "GORUCK" was written vertically along the left edge, and something Iron Heart related written on the right? I also like the simplicity of just the centered logos, without words.
Edit: Upon further inspection, I think that once this mockup is in full color (black background, white words and arrowhead, and red W) it will look even cleaner. I'm a big fan of this sketch, Adam.
