he wrote me back last night with a very brief messaged that said sorry it has taken so long. sent a few pics of the project in progress. Looks good, but noticed he has replaced the silver indian head concho we agreed upon with, what appears to be, a stainless steel button…. not real thrilled about that and have messaged to inform him this was not the agreed to specifications.  :-\

nah, bro. nothing wrong with my email. that is the first time he has responded, thus the apology and the incomplete project, as he stated he has not burnished edges or made the reign yet….  2 months later mikeC

and as i've stated the two months is not the issue, it would have just been the respectful thing to do to drop a quick email and say, "hey running behind schedule but I have not forgot you."

But what do I know anyway?

I hate to say it, but I agree with SG. I had a great experience with Scott, but you should absolutely get what you agreed upon; especially, after the amount of time you waited. I hope he replies to your email, soon, with good news. Otherwise, I would pursue other avenues. Damn shame.

just my 2 cents, tell the dude that you are unhappy and don't feel welcome and go from there, open communication is usual the best way to go…

thanks guys,  SG got me thinking and I got ahold of Scott last night… told him from what I have seen of his work it looks top quality; however, with the way this has been handled I don't feel comfortable with proceeding. He said sent me back another brief message saying he understands and sorry for the hassle. All in all, maybe I'm just a fluke accident one of the people that fell through the cracks. I have heard a lot of positive stuff about Scott. I hold no ill will, I cannot imagine him gaining a fairly good reputation if this was occurring on a regular basis. Everyone is human and things happen, but it is time for me to move on.

I emailed him yesterday also and asked what the next step was on my belts and he got back to me pretty quick and said he'd get them banged out this week . Weird

Does anyone know anything about the type of buckle used on the belt in the eleventh picture on the original post?  The front bar is on a hinge- you could use that thing as a weapon!

natural harness 1.7
black harness 1.7
brown harness 1.5

changed out the buckle on the brown harness for a copper buckle i ordered from tanner goods, i did belt and buckle combo with my roy ducks in mind (yes im weird and ocd and like having a belt for each pair of pants)

wish i could find a copper 1.7 buckle
the brown is a seriously nice color
these belts are heavy duty

Wow, Nate.  I love that copper buckle.  I agree the brown color is nice, too.  I also have a natural harness 1.7 from Scott.  It will take a bit to break in and get comfortable, but it will be worth it.  Once this spring IH release madness settles down, I will be putting in another order with DMO.

Pretty close to what you have. A black harness 1.5" with stainless hardware, and a brown harness 1.5" with brass hardware. I like my holes at .75" apart, instead of 1". My weight tends to fluctuate, so that makes sizing a little more convenient/comfortable. I also like the teardrop holes, but at only .75" apart, I think the circular holes look less cramped.

Decided on a 16oz American Harness natural leather belt with a stainless steel buckle and a Horween FQHH CXL bifold. Will pick them up in the US in the summer. Can´t wait.
