Who's a good online provider of Samurai jeans?  And is it really that hard to get a pair with their signature red tab into the States?

Best online provider in the states is BlueInGreen in NYC. As for the red tab, as long as you have a Japanese friend or a proxy buyer, it's fairly easy.

I'm sure a lot of shops will sell to the US on rakuten…easy peasy.

I've never used rakuten.  Is it safe and reliable and are there customs duty crap I need to worry about?

I love rakuten. Very safe and reliable etc , although I can see it being intimidating to a first time buyer. I've never had to pay customs chargers but I live in the US… Other countries may be more strict.

BiG (support your local dealer)
DC4 (easy communication, nice dudes)
2ND (biggest stock of Samurai jeans, no English though, communication via google translator)
Kaizoku Pirates (good communication in English, often discounted shipping, contact Yuichi if you prefer raw)

Blue In Green should be your first choice.  Great selection, no hassle with shipping or customs and Gordon is absolutely wonderful to deal with.  I strongly recommend you go this route.  I think you'll be happy with the results.

Cheers for the nice comments guys! I'm loving the fit It's probably my favourite cut I've owned so far, I'm also a big fan of the coloured arcs on these, I don't know why but they have really grown on me since I first pre-ordered and when I got to see them in person and all the different details I just absolutely love them

Oh and I say BIG is the way to go depending on wether they have what your looking for or not obviously, customs charges from Japan to me (in the UK) have been far more expensive than a package from the US

And as for the red tab, I recently traded the pair of S5000VX I got from BIG with another forum member here and they had the red tab.

If BiG doesn't have the specific model you want, email Gordon and see if he can get it for you.  I know he's willing to track down things they don't have in stock.  Sometimes even things that are supposed to be only released in Japan.

Thanks a bunch to everyone who pitched in their two cents to my question above.  Been thinking of getting a pair of samurai's a while now.  I'm really digging the arcs and red tab that you can't get locally in the states.  So for now I will keep pondering.  Thanks again.

I've been more than satisfied– surprised, even-- by the Samurai's I've purchased from Blue in Green. If you live in the states, there is simply no reason at all to shop elsewhere.

Can someone who knows there way around samurai tell me what if any other fits use the same denim as the s003jp-a?
I love the character of those but there a bit to slim for me and they are also sold out

answered you already on Sufu. It was a special denim only released once in this cut (so far)

Oh jeez. It's like the only denim by them I like, Mabey ill have to find a second hand pair and sqeeze in. Now the problem of finding them

Exposed selvage on the coin pocket looks tacky and cheap.  Samurai should stick with hidden selvedge or peekaboo.
