Well, do jeans actually stretch more if they are worn wet?
From my point of view the stretching abilities won't extend when they are wet, the stretching just will occur faster. So even if Lando would have worn them when totally dry, they would have stretched the same amount after a few wears.That could be total crap though. Any other opinions?

When the denim is wet it is more pliable and that's what happened with his knees, he probably sat down and it formed over his knees and that pushed the denim forward thus giving him the knee boners. Haha, that's a funny term.

Hey Lando, did Kiya explain to you the difference between the xx denim and the xxx denim? or if there is any big difference. From what i know, the patches are gold foil stamped, but i am unsure about any other differences between the two…

Most natural fibers will stretch and bend more when wet. Totally normal. Tailors use that to their advantage to shape shoulders, sleeves and waists. Hats are steamed into shape. When the fiber is dry it stays in that shape. That's why shrink-to-fit and wearing your jeans till they are dry does help to get a slightly more customized fit.

And till, I agree that an unsanforized wet pair is more apt to mold if you put them on while damp/wet, I'm just saying that knee boners are extremely pronounced when you try doing squats and all that shit while the denim is wet. Its kinda like rushing a progress, and while some people favor the contouring, I'm not the biggest fan.

Indeed, Simon. It applies to sanforized and raw denim but even more to raw, especially if you actually let it shrink on your body. You have to size fairly small to achieve that effect, though. Say buy the jeans TTS, then shrink on body in tub, as hot as you can take it. Then let dry on body. Only do this on a really warm day or you might get a cold bladder or kidneys; not good. If you buy two sizes up in the waist this won't do much good. Might as well shrink off the body. Still wearing them while wet till dry will always help.

I hear you, dep. I always do a a couple of squats (3-5 hold for 20sec) in my wet denim but not so much to give me a knee boner. Just enough to get some good creases going and to stretch the butt and waist.
A nicely molded but and thigh is good but a knee boner looks shabby especially on a pair of new jeans.

I take it all with a grain of salt. Two weeks ago I got banana pudding on my SEXIH07BK's so they needed a quick soak or else it would've looked like I jizzed in my pants, and yesterday while loading my luggage into the trunk, I got some god awful schmutz on my jeans and had to do another soak
Two frickin soaks in a month…comes with the turf of being a world traveller

I know I know. This rain is fucking awful!!! And I was not wearing boots because I went straight out all night after I landed. Boots on a plane are a no go for me. Tonight will be different. And you are right, I will always remember this trip.

Lando, the rain on the hems is what I call good wabi-sabi, too. I wouldn't worry about that. Now banana pudding and car schmutz have no place on a nice jean and the soaks were simply unavoidable. No worries there either, though. I don't think those soaks will have bled much color or did they?

I was not stating it because I was concerned that it was bad Wabi-Sabi. I was stating my anger more at the fact that the stitching has deteriorated. I am also interested in the effects, if any of the soaks on those BK's!
