Seul, nice MJK pickups ! I heard that Michael J. Krell was shutting down, and I know he makes fantabulous quality stuff so you can probably get some great deals right now. As for those polos – SICK ! (My nephews taught me that "SICK" is a synonym for "Fabulous !!!").

I hope ur not offended, Seul, but the shiny material of those Polo´s is weird. Reminds me of Polyester…

MOP (mother of pearl) buttons. You can tell the quality of a polo or shirt is decent by the buttons, most of the time. MOP = SICK  ::)

Edit @ Shubz: I payed 40 € for that green Chambray (from his online store, red is sold out). The red one won't be much more (buying of SF). I have tons of MJK goods, and yeah: lovely gear. High quality at a low price. Too bad he's going out of biz.

If it matters, I dug the shiny-ness of the polos. To each his own. I don't think that shop (South Willard) sells shitty, mundane stuff. Looking through their product portfolio, those guys know high end quality.

Oh suz there Beats… Thought you meant the buttons, not the fabric itself. That doesn't really look 'shiny' to me though... But then my eyesight is def getting worse every year...

                      Rational talk:

                      • bought those aviators cause they go great with the outfit I will mostly be wearing during summer/ spring (and because I gave my last pair of aviators to my bro's gf since she looked stunning in them)
                      • bought those 2 MJK chambray shirts cause I sold my FH chambray shirt, and because I had lotsa discount (minus the 25 $ I had as Paypal money, I bought them both for less than 70 € portpaid; not bad). I also know Mikey makes top gear and the fit will be spot on.

Impulse buys?.. Most certainly not. But yeah: still feels good  ::)

Seul, that's funny. The polos and the indigo pajama pants were what I flipped on, too. Really nice polos.

Beatle, the shiny material is most likely mercerized cotton. That means it's the finest and most durable cotton you can find. It wears nicer than silk. I have many mercerized cotton undershirts, t-shirts and polos. Some of them are 23 years old and have literally hundreds of washes behind them while still looking like new. The price on those is totally OK. Cerruti and Zimmerli charge at least that much if not more. The weave is a kind of pique weave, similar to Lacoste. This is actually a weave that takes quite a bit of material and much more expensive machines than a flat weave but is very open and airy, as you can see in the pictures.

The dark blue and grey polos are really super nice. The only thing I'm not sure about is the pocket. But it definitely doesn't look like a polyester shirt.

Seul, nice pick ups on the sleep pants, aviators, and button ups, but I can't say I love the polos. I am just not a fan of slinky material but I understand the benefits and quality that Till explained. I have never been a fan of that type of material and do not feel that it compliments the typical Heavy Weight Items I wear. I am sure however that you will pull it off quite well!

I see what you say about being used to heavy weight items, Lando. Personally, I really like the contrast of different materials and textures. Like a heavy weight jeans and leather jacket but then a very fine shirt and cashmere scarf. Or a heavy weight flannel shirt and then an Italian shearling on top of it. It makes for a more complex picture; at least for my taste.

My spring and summer gear hàve to be lightweight. As I explained earlier: I'm always warm. You could drop me on the Northpole wearing nothing but a tutu and I'd be fine (unless pics were taken). So the more a fabric is able to breath and keep me cold, the better. MJK shorts, decent polos, and Dior sneakers s/s 2010 for the win  😉

So, ordered from the online store (lots cheaper than the store I got those other pics from):

Of course, they are a notch up - on material and price. Just like John Smedley is probably a bit nicer, too. For really nice mercerized cotton also see Lisanza and Grigio Perla. Still those Cerruti shirts I got have not yet found an equal and I own shirts by all those brands. The funniest thing is that those Cerrutis are actually the model that Don Johnson wears in Miami Vice; you know with the button placket.

Do you have a Sunspell polo? If so, how do you like them?
