lu, that's a new drop & a new cut. i had an old one but it was cut too big & i sold it many moons ago. the shirt you linked up to dropped about a week or so ago & sold out immediately, i was in the real world & missed the drop 

for the price & the workmanship i think it's a bargain

Aah, got it! I like the OD + dark buttons subtlety, makes it perfect for a denim head in an office. The IHD-01od is an alterantive, but the western + contrast buttons + pockets makes it a bit too much for office wear I suspect.

Suggestions for alternatives? I guess there aren't too many OD shirts out there in the 8-12 oz range.

thank you.  i love the items i have from this young man.  he just released a heavy chambry & so far i love it as much as my ihsh 21.

the buttons are a navy cat's eye that has a really great sheen to it,  think i might reach out to the maker & see about sourcing some of them for some of my IH workshirts (yes i love the buttons that much)  will post images when time allows

the buttons:

look like little blue cough drops. can almost see through them but not really.  have a great glaze to them as well.  complements the shirt well

Beautiful, the fabric, the cut, the details and the fit.
On RT's site the fabric of the chambray like one is described as " 8OZ SANFORIZED LIGHT BLUE JAPANESE SELVEDGE DENIM FROM KAIHARA MILLS"
But it looks pretty much like a heavy chambray (like you're writing) and similar to the 21.  The 21 is two ounces heavier, though at 10oz.
How would you compare the two fabricwise?

fabric feels alittle different.  this is alot rougher than the 21 was, but the weight feels the same (imho).

for the price point i have never seen a better workshirt made in the states or abroad.

i support this guy.  he ships fast, answers all kinds of my crazy questions & just seems cool.

Yeah, I've got the indigo overdye one. Supernice. And he's very approachable and friendly.
Not that I need shirt, but can one have too many. That one will get onto the want list.
I find his workshirts fit pretty small. Especially for a us made one.
