Great photos on your site Jesse!
Thanks for the compliments, you check jesselirola.tumblr.com as well - that's where my choice frames make it quicker than jesselirola.com, love that marshall image on your avatar, Jim was one cool motherfucker.
I have some images of him on my flickr.com/j_lir - we got to talking, i was working CMJ years ago and Jim had an opening @ the Morrison Hotel that night. I was across the street shooting the XX's first US show @ the apple store, it was a flop of a show, they subsequently ditched the indian chick in the band. She had no stage presence, I later heard she wrote all of their material. Ha, what a nice business music is! haah, I've seen her around some festivals, so maybe they kept her on as a lyrical consultant or whatever one would call that.
Anyhow Marshall and I got to talking, he signed a copy of his book "trust" for me and then Michael Douglas and Katherine Zeta Jones walked in. Marshall popped up with celerity screaming "MICHAEL" and then they got to talking. I was pissed, ha. Either way I was just happy to have some time to talk to jim, he had just received a M9 from Leica with his signature on top, he was talking shit on my the M8's I had on my shoulder. He told me "those M8's are shit, get a M9!" I said "none are available, let me borrow yours" his reply was "fuck off" haah.
Good shit, he was right too - those M8's are shit, hahah, but they make great images. I'd tend to agree the M9 is shit as well, but nothing digital in the 35mm format makes better images, so shit or not, I still use two of them. It's far from reliable, but I love the images. My M6's work always and will for the rest of my career.
cheers,
I suppose all of this should have gone in the photo section.

@jesselirola - will get a Leica M9 if/once I master my Leica X1 (or I go back to shoot black&white with my Rollei 35's).
The X1 isn't somthing I think is worth the money, I'd say sell it and get the Lumix GX1 and find an old C-Mount (Bolex) 25mm ƒ .95 or ƒ 1. You'll get the look of the Noctilux (which is pictured on my M9) for a fraction of what my setup costs. Granted the sensor is 1/2 the size of a 35mm sensor, but shit - i'm sure it'll work out.
I'd say go back to the Rollei 35, I use Richard Photo Lab in LA, they give great prices and do really quiality work. I live in CHI and even though I work in LA often I still ship film from jobs around the country there. They have it up on a FTP in 3 days and send you your negs back within the week.
Steve Block is my guy there, tell him I recommended you and you'll get a great price.
When the M10 comes out keep on me I'll be selling the M9's immediatly. Probably for a good price, my bodies will be beat to shit, but the sensor's will be perfect. That being said who doesn't want a Leica that looks like it's been used anyhow? I've dents, barely any black paint left, broken screens, hahah. I just work with many bodies at the same time for long hours and although I take great care of my glass the cameras are tools, you don't baby your tools. I don't mistreat them, but when they're on my shoulder at a job whether they knock into one another is the last thing on my mind.
Cheers
Jesse

Damn Jesse, I just looked through your portfolio and whoa it's great!
Crazy that you have 3 M9's though. I would love to own a Leica when I'm wayyyy older.

jesse I missed your pic of the M9+nocti the first time, thanks for sharing
there are photographers that would kill for your kit I'm sure you know
for folks who don't know that's a $10k+ setup right thereedit: oh and re: the 35/2.5 summarit, I agree
that's an old pic, I have since sold the lens
picked up a v3 summicron at a nice price, vintage pretty much matches the body -

Great to see you here Jesse. We have been in contact via Flickr mail back in the day, I was asking for some PP advice on M8 lo light shots.
Since then I have sold my M8 and I'm currently shooting with my M6. I'll get the M9 when price drops enough, too expensive at the moment.

Ha,
Did I reply?
Hope so!
Yeah, if I wasn't making money with the M9 i doubt I'd own one, much less two - although it's a really the best digital camera.
My M6 keeps on going and going - it's the best body they've ever made!
I'm selling my black paint Leicavit - interested? email me @ jesse@jesselirola.com if you are - there's an add on rangefinderforum - I don't need it, I'd happily trade for some IH gear, really a XXXL Black denim vest. or some of the silver items.
Cheers,
Jesse

Yes, you did give me some tips which were really helpful.
I've tried Leicavit, a Finnish shooter Jukka Vatanen (http://www.leicashooters.fi/profile/jukkawatanen/) has it on his M4 and he really likes it. Not my thing though.

Just put a deposit down on a mint used M8 $2100 and a new D-Lux 5 Titanium kit $999

I recently got the canon 24mm T-SE version II. An incredible lens to say the least. Anyways I've been shooting, and I am in the process of setting up this new website. I'd love to hear feedback.

Awesome site Josh. I would love to try a TS lens but I can't see myself owning one, until I can buy lenses for the hell of it.
As for the site I love it! If you don't mind me asking how much did it cost to set-up? I'm looking to set-up a portfolio site. But personally if it were me I would just keep the Walt Disney hall as the front page as that photo is sweet!
