      @rydor:

      The color on this thing is amazing, it has such wonderful shimmering blue colors poking through everywhere that just can't be captured in a photo. I have no idea how this could have been deemed "not Iron enough" as this thing is practically armor.

      Agreed on both counts. If this was initially considered "not iron enough", I'd probably be too terrified to wear whatever is iron.

      Got one! Have to say that was a much smoother ordering experience than the ihsh-277 too, last shirt I was rushing to buy on release 😎

      Thanks for the reply, that's good to know. To be honest I've not owned much in the way of shirts this heavy before - I think there's more chance it ends up being too iron for me if anything, rather than not enough…

      Looking forward to finding out soon anyway.

      @Giles:

      Won't be restocked.  We have run out of the denim.  We are sampling a new version in 19oz LHT at the moment, we did try 18oz vintage but decided it was not man enough.  We have left the status of this shirt as "continuous production", so we can harvest "email me when back in stock" requests.

      I have yet to see the new sample, so it will be at least 3 months before we see the new version in production I am afraid.

      Super excited for the release of the new version of this shirt. Apologies if this is cheeky, but I came across this old post from @Giles saying the 18oz vintage wasn't 'man enough' for this shirt :o

      Did anything change about this denim to make it more suitable, or was it just a case of any potential alternative denims turning out to be even less suitable?

      I'm totally planning to buy this either way, just curious about the thinking/process that goes into the design.

      Phew it took 25 minutes and I saw a lot of bare legs, but I eventually managed to order one of these  🙂

    • RE: IH-555S-SBG - 21oz Selvedge Denim Slim Cut Jeans - Superblack (Fades To Grey)

      @Erikdayo:

      I have factored in stretch to an extent. I was thinking 33.5-34" to be ideal post stretch for me. But I admit that I am quite new to this stuff. It's possible that the 32.2" would work out fine after quite a bit of initial discomfort. The pairs I have now all started out close to 33".

      Sounds like you're exactly the same size as me. I'd also ideally end up with a 33.5" - 34" waist after stretch. The leg (thigh/knee/hem) look closer to ideal for me on a 32, but bigger wouldn't be the end of the world. I just ordered a 33 and asked for a small pair, on the basis that if it's slightly large I just end up with a more relaxed fit, instead of too small where I'd end up with uncomfortable jeans that I'd probably wear less often. Maybe the 32 might have ended up a better fit, but 33 is safer.

      One other thing it's worth noting if you haven't already though is that for me (and I guess others) the higher rise on these means I could probably get away with a slightly smaller waist than on other lower rise jeans, since I go in quite a bit at the waist. May or may not make a difference depending on which jeans you're comparing to and how you're shaped.

    • RE: IH-555-XHSib - 25oz Selvedge Denim Slim Jeans - Indigo/Black

      Guess I've been pretty much following the Giles model for most of the last ~10 years: buy a pair and wear them almost exclusively for 6 - 24 months, then buy another pair. Not that I'm totally rigid about it though, I'll throw in a black pair or an old worn in pair a day or two every couple of weeks just for variety, and in a (probably futile) attempt to convince normal people that I'm not some weird jeans obsessive. But yeah all this tempting denim is putting that approach under serious strain…

      [emoji3516] Wow those look incredible, both fit and fades. I'm starting to become convinced that I need a pair in this XHSib denim. Pics like this are great sales material for IH!

      Problem is I've only had my first pair of IH for about 3 months, and I've already decided I need a regular XHS pair, a SBG pair and a 21oz OD pair as well. Given I usually wear jeans for at least a year or two before getting a new pair, some real patience is going to be required.

    • RE: What's your favorite Beer?

      @Seul:

      So who exactly decides what is imported into Norway and what isn't?..

      Oh and I've never bought Gipsy Hill before because the ratings of the available beers were too low… With so many beers available here, with many new ones added on a daily base, you have to draw the line somewhere... For me, that is that I will not buy a beer scoring lower than 4.0 on Untappd. My mate's decided to do 4.2 even.

      Aaah beer snobs... You gotta love hating them...

      Ha, that seems fair enough, not even sure I'd call it snobbery to be honest. If you mostly buy your beers online and you don't mind too much how much you pay*, you have to find some way of choosing between the thousands on offer. Untappd reviews is probably more sensible than just basing it on which can artwork you like the look of.

      *and you don't live in Norway!

      @neph93:

      Everything over 4.7% is exclusively sold via a state owned monopoly.

      Interesting. Does it have any noticeable effect on the beers produced by local breweries? Do you get a proliferation of 4.6% beers so they can be sold direct to consumers, or anything like that?
