    • RE: Supply and Demand of Iron Heart Products

      In my opinion it would be silly to throttle the supply (assuming you can eventually sell everything, of course). I’m loving the fact that I don’t have to set an alarm on my work calendar for each new flannel release this season.

      I couldn’t help but notice that almost all of the flannels this season are still available and many still have 9+ in the most popular sizes. My guess is that three things are going on: more were produced to keep up with demand, less money in peoples pockets due to inflation and investment losses, and some of the designs are less appealing to the masses.

      I think the first two points are leading to both increased supply and decreased demand in the second hand market. It shouldn’t be unusual for used items to sell for 50% or less of their original cost…sellers just need to lower their expectations. Ultimately iron heart sells functional clothing and not collectibles.

      Just my two cents!

      @Sage954:

      I find Marty Makary from Hopkins to be a good source of info. He retweeted this the other day. Thought it would be relevant here. Japan’s policy.

      Seems like a very level-headed approach!

      They were in a tough spot. I think if the roles were reversed Red Bull would have done what Mercedes did. The stewards decision was an interesting one, but as someone who isn’t a die hard fan of max or Lewis I’m glad they went this route instead of having the race end under a safety car or restarting the race without getting the lapped cars out of the way (which would have been just as unprecedented as the decision that was made). Nonetheless, it’s impossible not to feel gutted for Lewis.

      [emoji2962] What an insane end to an insane season. Don’t really know how to feel about the whole situation. I just wish the safety car would have happened two laps earlier so Max could have won without controversy [emoji23]

      @Giles:

      I am so friggin nervous…

      This feeling remind me of Christmas Eve when I was like 7 [emoji23] So curious to see how it plays out…I’m glad they’re on different tyre strategies…should make for an interesting race! My guess is that Max will be hunting down Lewis on fresher tyres for the last 10 or so laps but won’t be able to make the pass.

      I got greedy and tried to get March 22, and when that didn’t work I tried June 22 and got through. Feeling pretty lucky. I think the key was using Apple Pay. Didn’t have to waste time entering card info!

      @jordanscollected:

      I'm sure mine will go up too @sabergirl Ann. We're a small business so we get get royally screwed. Since my wife owns her own business, she is roped into the crap with me.

      The HSA account they offer is crap too. Yes it's pre tax money set aside, but use it or lose it at the end of the year makes no sense to me.

      If it’s truly an HSA it is not use it or lose it. It may be an FSA which is a little different…

      Edit: sorry just seeing other replies 😀

    • RE: Random questions to which you seek an answer

      @Filthy:

      Has anyone ever put hot pepper sauce in their birdseed to deter squirrels before? I don't mind feeding the squirrels too, but they are bullies and chase the birds away. They are really greedy and a pain in the ass. I feel kind of bad harming them and I definitely don't want to hurt the birds. They have a tough enough life as it is, out in the cold.

      Hot pepper does not permanently harm the squirrels, but I’ve found it only temporarily deters them so I generally shy away from using it. If they’re desperate enough, they’ll eat it anyway and put up with the sting. Fun fact: bird food manufacturers have to double the amount of hot pepper in the bird seed every couple years because squirrels quickly evolve to be able to resist the spice.

      The best solution I’ve found is to use the ‘squirrel defender’ feeder. The one downside is that the no-mess food doesn’t cycle through it well. You could probably also use a ‘dinner bell’ feeder but they might figure that out eventually.

      Absolutely loving this shirt. It reminds me of a softer version of Moleskin in a lot of ways…
