Iron Heart IH-634S - World Tour 2010 - 2013

I have a favorite restaurant similar to Korea House, it's called MOM!!!
Jealous, although my mother does make some pretty damn good Italian…
Got myself settled in to my new office at work today. I'm currently alternating doing research involving the simulation of plasmas and doing some low level maintenance for the high performance computing center here on campus.
I do most of my work in this building...
I'll try and sneak over into our server room later this week a grab a pic or two. The density of of machines in that room is really quite impressive.
Ate lunch in the courtyard…
The river that runs through campus…

i'd be down to get back into the WT's again…..

@501/IH:
Can I repeat my appeal for the unknown May 2013 leg host to turn up in Berlin for a hand-over? You'd be coming to the German capital at one of the best times in the entire year!
You pay, I'll be there!
Brilliant, Lando….now you only have to tell me how to come up with the miraculous new income situation that this would presume.....

Thanks Katsushin
Thanks for sharing emceeQ im sure those korean dishes tastes lovely ::) .
@ MikeC nothing can beat MOM's cookingThey're always fantastic! I miss the days when I could just go over to a friends for some home cooked Korean from his mother…
Nothing too exciting to report on yesterday. Did prep some slaw for a cookout at my friend's tonight...

Swung by my favorite hotdog joint on my way in to town…
Chicago style hotdog minus the sport peppers? Personally, I keep the peppers and cut out the onions, but I do love a good Chicago dog…
-
Sports are there, just buried. and man, do I love Chicago dogs…
This place, Hippo's, is really something special. The owner graduated in Physics from the University of Chicago in the 70's and basically said "fuck it". Decided to move to Michigan and devote himself to the hotdog. I've yet to have a dog in Chicago that can match these guys...
It also helps that even after not stopping by in a few months that I can walk in and they still know what my order is...

I'm with Rocket; sounds like an awesome place. Feeling kinda jealous right now.

It really is a great place. I'm actually heading back today to grab lunch with my brother…
Some more pics from yesterday...
My Dad, getting the rod ready...
To go fishing for the dog…
He attaches a dummy fly (without a hook) and the dog loves chasing it while he practices casting.
Went to a new Italian restaurant in the area. It's run by a Sicilian chef that moved over the US this past year to open this place up. Really great food.
Prosciutto with fresh mozzarella and peppers
Arugula and tomato salad with some lemon olive oil and pepper
Fresh saffron spaghetti with shrimp, tomatoes, and red pepper flakes

Great updates emceeQ! Mouthwatering food shots and that dog is uber cute.

Thanks guys! Every time I visit my parents I feel like all I do is eat, haha. This dog, Zeke, is also just too cute to handle. The little guy rocks!
Stopped by my one of my favorite places in the area this afternoon. Erma's has been serving up frozen custard around here since 1942. Even when it's raining this place has a line…
Had a bit of a family gathering today, and one of my best friends and his sister decided to show up and surprise me…

Okay, so I'm working on making some plans for next weekend (ie my last weekend with the WT's). Trying to decide between two things and was curious as to what you guys might prefer to see.
I can either head up to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and do some camping. Beautiful forests and Lake Superior, IMO the best of the Great Lakes, would be the highlights of this trip. Or I can head out to Colorado and do some camping in the Rocky Mountains.
Would you guys prefer to see one of these over the other? Either way it will be awesome, which is why I'm having trouble deciding.
