It bums me out that I'm just too damned big for so much cool stuff.  I'm an American XL, so I'm an Iron Heart XXXL.  I wear a 7 5/8 or a 7 3/4 hat size, so I'm shit out of luck when it comes to Papa Nui's stuff.

I've been wearing my 634S for about eighteen months now.  It's a great jean for me - I've got a pretty substantial rear and thick legs.  Think "hockey player."  The slim denim thing doesn't work for me at all.

I'd like to grab a US-made pair of LVC jeans before they're impossible to find.  Does anyone have any recommendations as to which of their fits would suit me best?  I know the 1947 501 is sorta their "gold standard," but I'm guessing the 1955 might be closer to what I'm looking for.

FYI, I wear a 34 inch waist in the 634S.  If you recommend grabbing a slimmer cut in a 36 inch waist, let me know.
