I was in Brussels last year with a couple of friends. Nice city. Had a lot of fun. But I am sadly not a fan of beer from Belgium. I have tried quite a few. Several that was OK and a lot I would never order again. I will continue searching for a beer from Belgium that I think is more then just OK.  Perhaps you got any suggestions?
I do not like fruity beers, or beer that got to much of a yeasty taste and I do not like when a beer is to sweat or sour and I am not very fond of Weißbier.
Most of the beers I enjoy the most are from, England,  Ireland and Czech Republic.

The best stouts I've had to date were either 'merican or Dutch… So not much help there  😉 Don't really drink standard lager either... And "ale" is too broad a term...

            WE'RE STUCK!..  😉

What are some of the best Scotch Ales?.. And please don't tell me Gordon's Finest Scotch or X-Mas, cause I refuse to drink anything by Martin's…  😃

I enjoy Innis & Gunn oak aged beer now and then.
But I prefer brown ales, golden ales and IPA when it comes to ale.

And I've just contacted a local store that supposedly distributes Bourbon County in Belgium  😞

You may be right. On a side note, the Cereal Killer I ordered became mysteriously unavailable. The story goes that the 4 pk showed in system, but wasn't in store. Frustrating, I can order one at the restaurant, but now can't find a bottle. 😠
