Think I've managed to find some natural, tan & havana veg tanned leather as well as some Vibram soles.

Here's a boot I made for guy at WETA Digital… I think I prefer the natural coloured sole.

I'm also working on producing my own moulded rubber soles.

I got tired of trying to source Vibram soles so I'm going to make my own here in New Zealand.  I like being able to control as much of the process as I can and I think it adds value.

Me too.  Now, I gotta figure out if and how I can wax the suede before construction?

I probably sound like an ass here, so excuse my ignorance; but why should the suede be waxed before construction?

Its more economical.  Waxing the suede hide first would be more efficient and get a better finish (just like dying the hide first).

Very nice work Hemi.  Waxed would make me feel more confident.  Have you explored lining your boots in calf yet?
