Looks like this one has white stitching and the 55 doesn't (or the overdye distorted the stitching on the 55).

How do the sleeves fit G?  Are the shoulders tight?  Does it make your gut look big?  Are these the same pattern as the 70?  Are these brushed?  Who wove the fabric?  What's his name?  How old is he?  Does Haraki know him?

I'm with ya Brooks. I thought Smartwool were better, but they aren't quite as good as Darn Tough. I mean, everyone wants to wear what the military is wearing, so get some Darn Tough. It's what the USA military wears (along with Danner or New Balance).

And they're made in New England (VT to be exact).

I got some Anonymous Ism socks for Christmas and I'm not impressed. They don't stay up very well and lose their shape fairly quickly.  I'm pretty sure I have a wool blend.  I'll stick with Smartwool and Darn Tough.

Made in Japan doesn't mean it's the best.
