Thank you, friend. These are the Horween British Tan Chromexcel version. I’m just starting the break in process. I will say, these are my first pair of higher end boots. I have a ton of Red Wings. The difference in quality of build and materials is wild.
Also, you’ve got me looking into which vest I need. Total inspo.

@FairlyVague I’ve never seen or touched White’s IRL, but the profile, design and workmanship look very nice on IG etc.
Regarding the short discussion earlier in this thread, I don’t want to pee on RW as I think there is a lot to like for the price. However, the dollar upcharge on mid tier boots like White’s, Wesco et al, while considerable, is totally worth it. I don’t quite see why guys spend $400 on top quality jeans, far superior to the likes of LVC for example, then wear the boot equivalent of LVC with them. But that is just me.
If you ever want input regarding vests then let me know. I reckon a type III vest or or N-1 vest would suit you down to the ground. Or are you thinking more of a work vest?

I never really thought about the difference between Red Wing/Whites/Wesco until I held a pair of Wesco in my hand. It’s crazy how Wesco/Whites/Role Club etc can make a work boot feel cheap and thin. Sorry Red Wing. I’ve given you plenty of my money…Get over it.
As for vests....I’m seriously considering the IHV-34 black hunting vest. Type III vest don’t work for me. I feel like they’re too boxy and I’m too boxy. I wear typeIII jackets. But I can’t do the vests. I bought and returned the deck vest a few weeks ago. Decided I didn’t need that and this schott deck jacket.

@FairlyVague The hunting vests are beauties, and the 12oz Wabash is pretty great stuff. I felt the dims were not right for me until @Stuart.T bought one and showed me the errors in my thinking. By that time my size had gone in most of the iterations.
I reckon you’d kill it in one of them, and the practical value of vests is certainly not to be underestimated. I’m at the point now where I’m at a loss for where my shit is on the days I don’t vest.

@FairlyVague
I was debating the Semi-dress but instead ended up with the MP in British Tan Chromexcel. I couldn't shake the feeling that the heel would be too high for my liking. However, they look really nice on you and the heel doesn't stick out.I own cowboy boots for riding, but they are solely worn in the saddle.
Can you comment on how the heel feels to walk in everyday?
I was looking at Natural Chromexcel in the Logger from White's, but had the same reservations re: the heel. They look cool in photos, but i'm just not sure they are "me". https://divisionroadinc.com/collections/footwear/products/whites-logger-350-split-commando-natural-cxl

Your images and words sold me. I’m gonna go for it. Thanks. I think. (My wallet is screaming at me)

Rain in the faceI gotta say the heel height didn’t bother me a bit once I had them in my hands. I’ve been mostly wearing the Eat Dust x RedWing Pecos for the past year +. The heel height doesn’t feel any different to me. To me, they just feel and look like much nicer versions of the Iron Ranger I’ve often worn in the past. I’m already contemplating some smoke jumpers now.
