Is the serge work shirt also being made in black?

No, sorry, or at least, no current plans…

Today I submitted Sample Requests for:

IHSH-08sbg replacement - 16oz non-selvedge (because that is what it is) sbg western, as per

            https://www.ironheart.co.uk/extinct/ihsh-08sbg.html

            But significantly better photographed than my circa 2011 selfies  😃 😃 😃 😃 😃

And a 16oz non-selvedge sbg CPO, as per

            https://www.ironheart.co.uk/tops/shirts/ihsh-177.html

            But in SBG

Duuuude. Gonna need that cpo, methinks. I hope for 141-type measurements. The openings on shirts have been getting too narrow.

Western for me. I love CPO’s but they are basically summer evening/early autumn wear where I live.

See, and for me 16oz is bordering on jacket territory, and would be too hot as a shirt the majority of the year.

The bulk is my problem. I’d wear it as a jacket. They are a little too long and bulky to get under a heavy coat/jacket. A 16oz shirt over a henley and under a jacket is excellent October-May layering for me [emoji38]

But I wouldn’t layer a CPO. It’s its own outer layer. That’s why you need both

Is that like saying Policemen are getting younger :), because we have not knowingly or wittingly changed the standard western pattern?

Maybe? I dunno. I always look at measurements on new shirts, and it used to be that mediums were consistently around 21” or greater at the opening. These days they seem to be less. My womanly hips can’t hang with anything below 21.5”, really, and these days most larges aren’t making that mark either? Perhaps I should make a chart [emoji23] for myself.

Ooh both of those are super welcome… I guess since they're the same fabric, I'd opt for the CPO when it comes to the question of to pocket or not to pocket. Plus I have a Johnny Cash so maybe a tad of redundancy for the regular western there, despite diff weight obviously.

Can you share what the third items in this picture is (the jacket sitting on top of the new 533)?  It looks like it has a wool lining or something similar?

                                  Thanks!  Jim

Yes, in retrospect that was a dumbass thing to say… I didn't want to specify my suspicions as it may be hush-hush. It is intriguing for sure, as is the shirt at the fore.
