Coffee
-
I do 28-30 g per 12 oz or so on pour over. 1 scoop for "2" on ap usually
-
I use the Aeropress 2013 World Champion's recipe, but inverted.
17 grams coffee ground a little courser than paper filter.
Rinsed normal filter, aeropress in inverted position.
50 grams of water at 83c for the bloom.
Bloom for 40s. Nicely wet all grounds and lightly agitate holding the aeropress and shaking it abit around.
Very slowly add 215 grams of water at 79c for about 30 sec
Press very gently for about 30 seconds.
Leave about 50 gram slurry in the press and discard.Total time 1min 40secs
Example of the inverted method and reasoning behind it.

sounds like science somehow
def. gonna read the 2-3 times again and then I'll start making my first coffee with the ap!
only need to buy another water boiler, since the one I wanted to buy isn't available anymore…already found the perfect one today! so can't do the exact temperature thingy atm. ... -
Just did my 1st inverted brew smoother, stronger just the way I like it.

Inversion is tits.
Rafa, if you think that sounds like science, try watching a video of a siphon process. Looks like Walter White cooking up shards of crystal meth

Finally got a V60. Will try out tomorrow.
-
Aeropress and v60 both rock. I do v60 at home and ap at work. Actually not sure if my rig is a v60 but similar.
They are different but each worthwhile.
-
Aeropress is def quicker and an easier clean up than V60.

^who is the grinder by, looks so sweet!
hey, sry for the late reply…the grinder is nothin special, 25bucks from eBay. the brand is called "Haushalt International" ...really nothing special ^^
Should check out if it's a Ceramic Conical Burr Grinder. The different in grinder types/styles is;
a)ceramic - it keeps cool and doesn't cause friction/burn the beans
b)conical - helps with consistent partical sizing
c)burr - these crush the beans and help open the coffee bean up. Blade grinders slice the bean.I hope this is helpful, it does make a taste difference, and I also kind of both love and hate I know this much about coffee :|

V60 should be as easy to clean up? Just throw the filter paper in the bin and you're done.
I Aeropress in the office, V60 @ home.
V60 I make 2.5 FULL sized cups that I drink over a few hours, vs 1 regular size in the Aeropress.

Neither are difficult to clean up or make, but if you have to clean the v60 and the ranger server each time(which I will because I'm a neat freak) it's a little bit more of a hassle. The Aeropress just gets popped in the trash and a quick clean of the rubber. Also, it's done directly into the mug.
Anyways, my point was more about the time it takes for each method. I know you're super zen about the whole process but sometimes I need a quick cup.

it is, and yes, was really helpful (as all the other info you've posted in this thread)…thanks my friend!

Ah, Yeah I didn't see the range server in the photo. Totally agree, little more cleaning over all.
In terms of timing, I clean the range server after the 2nd cup, not at the time of pouring the first (mind you if I was making for 2 people, I'd be different).
Riddle me this, is the time/effort involved in making 2 cups of Aeropress greater than or less than 2 cups with a V60? I'd say overall it's about the same. V60 makes 2 cups @ once, Aeropress you have to repeat the same routine twice….
