Overdying - Overdone or All Day?!

I love 634s-b I think they are an essential pc.
I see a similarity in our taste haha.
-
You are correct sir between sb and the IH-MW

Haraki did the 634S-B a few years ago. It was the first od thing he did, and guess what, I just did not get it - for me a pair of jeans had to be indigo, indigo or indigo.
Anyway, I started doing more and more od stuff, and now you would have to kill me to prise my IHD-01od off me…..

IMO od is a nice variety of denim and it enables me to wear black appearing jeans that still fade. And, as i think, in a more interesting way than black knights or the SBG. So, it has a permission of existance.

i love OD, i just loved it more when it wasn't as common as it is now. the process of accomplishing the OD as well as the possible legendary "atari fades", it's really dope stuff. i have a pair of the SEXIH01BK (Black Overdyed Version) & i had a pair of SEXIH07BK (Overdyed Black) & i can honestly say the evolution of the OD process is evident when you compare the jeans side by side. i'm a nostalgic romantic, so i always like things that are limited & hard to come by. once it becomes common, part of it's charm is out the window for me
in essence, it's not OD, it's really me
-
i have a pair of the SEXIH01BK
want to see, when convenient…..
also interested to hear your thoughts on the evolution of the OD process, I have seen pics of old OD jeans
(not old as in worn, I mean old as in the first 634s-b) nothing in person yet
and they seem "less black" in pics if that makes sense
I think the first 634s-b were actually called super black, before what is now called super black was in existenceIH-634S-B with all the naughty bits, circa Jan 2006:
-
yeah, i remember seeing pictures of them being less black - i think low rider has a faded pair of SEXIH01 that are that way. They faded way more contrasty with a broader range of color than the current OD IH jeans.

Just a thought to those who say od is too common nowadays (I also like exclusivity!): Have you ever met another person wearing anything by IH (no planned meet-ups)? I only did once. And then I'm happy and might talk to that person and share experience. The chances that I meet too many people in od and thus may loose my interest on it are 0%. Internet is not real life. Period.
And I'd be happy if every new model or denim came out in od, as it increases the variety of models without much trouble. It's up to me to decide then wether to go black or blue.

I like the overdye. Give me more. I was never a fan of light blue–in fact, when the jeans get to the light blue I cut them into shorts or just don't wear them--so anything slowing down the process of getting to light blue (such as not buying indigo jeans at all), or no blue, but something else--brown, green, ivory--is good. Over the years I've had a number of black jeans, only one of those old brands (Levi, LL Bean, Wranglet, Diamond, etc) faded from black, an old pair of Lee's (from the early 80s?) to a sort of muddy charcoal. Not sure the dyeing process on those, but they are cool, and I wear them sparingly now.

I have never seen a pair of iron hearts I would call light blue
Yeah, well that's the good thing about them and why I'm here. Although the first pairs I bought were black and black OD. On the other hand, I do own a pair of 2nd hand 461 that is on its way to medium. The last thing that looked good in light blue to me might have been a stewardess circa 1969.
